With a string of hits (including the five week US number 1 'Basket Case', Dookie launched Green Day as punk rock superstars. It might not have been anything original musically, but it brought the joys of punk runk to whole new audience.

After the death of Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl found himself an out for his considerable talents through his new band the Foo Fighters. Grohl is said to have composed and played everything on this album all by himself, and so began the phenomenal career of the Foo Fighters.
