To me, this was the golden era of RPG games, but maybe that's just because I was a kid then. There are so many great ones to choose from.

Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy VI is, without a doubt, the best game of the era. Epic story, amazing number of characters - with character. Tons of secrets. It pushed what could be done with the SNES.

Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy 2 showed off what the SNES was capable of early in its life. It had an amazing (if a bit flaky) story with lovable characters. Polom and Poram...ahhh. Reply | No comments
